from The Angel, this is an honest accounting of where I’m dining and where I’m looking forward to eating the most most. It features a mix of restaurants frequenting on the regular, and others I’m excited to check out. It’s truer to life than a typical “best” or “hottest” list, and I’ll likely expand on places I try in future posts.

Revisiting…

• Mezban House, delicious Bengali food though service can be slow.

• Laghman Express, the new location has more dishes and the og ones continue to hit.

• Manjul, a quiet cafe-cum-clothing store i’m trying to visit frequently before it’s overrun with fuccbois—it’s on Howard Street, features a live olive tree planted in the center like a suburban mall in the 80s, and perfect lighting. Influencer catnip.

• Smithereens, for cocktails and cooked seafood dishes

• Welcome Home, a new bakery in Bedstuy run by a friend
