I’m an Asian-American writer and film critic based in New York who contributes to a wide range of cultural publications. (You can check that out here.) My knowledge of cinema is broad and so is my appetite for all kinds of cuisine; I studied film in college way back when, and I’ve been writing (…and eating) my entire life.
MOVIEPUDDING is where I blend these two interests together: at its most basic, observations on what I’m eating and what I’m watching, and at a higher level the signifiance, if any, of food’s role in film.
This newsletter was also born, in part, from a desire to offer a perspective on film that’s neither intimidatingly high-brow nor rooted in the mainstream. Consider it is a place to discover something new to watch, or reflect on what you’ve just seen. It’s where you can learn more about what you ate and, maybe, even explore how it connects with a film.
If you want to collaborate, sponsor a future post, commission my writing or something else, DM or email me at moviepudding@substack.com.
