How do you choose which films you’re going to watch at a film festival? I’m doing NYFF this year for the first time and don’t even know where to start! Looking forward to hearing what you think of the films you see next week.
with film festivals and in general, I always pick based on director! La Chimera and Last Summer were excellent, though I was sort of primed to like them. and always watch the Hong Sang-soos.
Sometimes I skip things if they're going to come out in theaters, like, the following week (like Anatomy of a Fall). And I usually try to see one thing that doesn't have any distribution at all.
